Foster History

  • The B Litter: Brady, Bug, Bitty and Brady by !christy and came to Claire when they were 4 weeks old. Bitty surprised us by slowly gaining her eyesight and Brady became known as being a big baby and excellent guitar kitten. Bug was the supermodel of the litter and Bowie was a super snuggler. All four had forever homes within 2 hours of being put up for adoption. 3/12/21 - 5/9/21

  • THE CITIES: Venice, Oslo and Sydney were bottle raised by !christy and came to Claire when they were 4.5 weeks old. Oslo carried on the guitar kittten torch with many adorable streams sleeping on the guitar. They were an amazingly loving litter and the second they were available for adoption they found great homes. 8/14/20 - 10/3/20

  • THE FIREFLIES: Kaylee, Jayne, Zoe and River came to her at the tender age of 4 days old. The heartbreak of losing Zoe and River to illness mixed with the most intense sleep deprivation experience made this Claire's most challenging fostering experience to date. When Jayne and Kaylee were 5 weeks old, Claire heard Inara crying from the parking lot in the middle of stream. Inara joined the litter soon after. Fostered 4/7/20 - 7/3/20

  • PHILLIP: When Phillip was only a precious 6 weeks old he came to the shelter with a terrible case of ringworm. Ringworm kittens have to be kept in total isolation and are at high risk of reinfection at the shelter, so we had to give him a fighting chance by bringing him into foster care. His daily regimen of disinfecting his enclosure was incredibly intense and his quarantine was the most strict and difficult of any of our fosters to date. We are so so proud of him for fully recovering and having such a wonderful personality thanks to all his one on one time and quarantine safe cuddles. Fostered 10/24/19-11/1/19 & 11/11/19 -12/3/19

  • DISNEY LITTER: Jasmine, Merida, Tiana, Gareth and Aurora were the sweetest, cuddliest litter Claire ever had the pleasure of fostering. Even though they were only fostered a short time, they brought outrageous amounts of joy to the stream. There was absolutely no way to capture all 5 of them posted in a photo so this is photoshopped. Fostered 6/27/19 -7/11/19

  • STAR WARS LITTER: Yoda, Padme, Leia and Chewie were found at 3 weeks old and were bottle fed and nursed back to health by the Friends for Life shelter. Once they reached weening age Claire took over and started working on socialization with them. They were one of the easiest litters she ever fostered and are famous for Chewie and Yoda's perfection of the "Turbo Blep." Fostered 5/14/19 - 5/28/19

  • JET LAG: After 3 weeks in China, Claire landed in Houston and stumbled upon this cutie only 2 hours after arriving home. Alone, hungry and only 8 weeks old, she was feral enough to be difficult to catch and even bit Claire hard enough to draw blood. It only took a day or so for her to realize that her foster home was actually a blessing and she was VERY easy to tame. Other than being diagnosed FIV positive, she was remarkably healthy. She's talkative, cuddly, feisty and Chubs was an especially good dad for her. Her adorable personality ultimately helped her find a great forever home. Fostered 10/1/18-12/19/18

  • THE ANIMANIACS: Yakko is the perfect combo of his brother and sister. Delightfully affectionate, adventurously aloof and totally adorable. Although he was nervous upon arrival he warmed up to us beautifully and is now a purr filled cutie. The Animaniacs had every problem under the sun. They arrived with an upper respiratory infection that was so bad it glued their eyes shut. The URI came back 3 times over the course of 2 months and they had to be treated for roundworms and lice. They conquered all their health problems and ended up delightful and happily adoptable. Fostered 5/24/18 - 7/31/18

  • THE ANIMANIACS: Dot was the beautiful calico from our animaniacs litter. At half the size of her brothers, she had no trouble leading their adventurous shenanigans. She loves hammocks and dinnertime....so she's my spirit animal.

  • THE ANIMANIACS: Wakko is Mr. Confident of his litter. He's perfectly comfortable yelling at you until he gets a snuggle and likes to think he's boss even though Dot is really the one in charge.

  • NUGGET: Nugget was a street kitty who heard through the meow-vine that Claire's house was where you go to get set up with a top notch adoption. He sat outside Claire's door and yelled until she saw him and brought him upstairs. We got him set up with vaccines, neutering and thanks to his hilariously chill personality and regular demands for affection, he was adopted the instant his vetting was completed. Fostered 4/9/18 - 5/10/18

  • THOR: One of our favorite success stories, Thor was an extremely mean and feral baby that was brought in with his sister Freya for fostering. Because they were so unsocialized, Thor and Freya had to be separated, so Freya went to another foster home after a few days. Claire slept on the floor of the bathroom with him almost every night to help familiarize him with people and help him feel safe. He is most famous for his remarkable hisser-to-biscuit-maker transformation during our first 8 hour stream with him. We are so proud of how loving he became. Fostered 3/2/18 - 4/9/18

  • LISA: Affectionately dubbed 'Stinky Lisa,' this precious tuxedo kitten was our first special needs foster. She spent hours and hours each day in my lap and came to adore cuddling. Her back legs don't quite work and she requires a diaper most of the time, but that doesn't stop her from climbing and playing like a champion. Fostered 10/23/17 - 11/21/17

  • MAGGIE: Maggie is Lisa's sassy gorgeous sister. When Lisa was adopted Maggie stayed with us a bit longer and eventually fell in LOVE with Olive, Chubs and Boo. The three cats would spend hours grooming her and loving on her; and Maggie even suckled on Boo quite a bit. What a lovebug. Fostered 10/23/17 - 12/29/17
